ARCC has begun planning the 2021 Corvette Autumn Show in accordance with the State of Maine State of Emergency Directive from the Governor. We anticipate that the immunization process will be sufficiently successful to allow the next Corvette Autumn show to be held.
We are hard at work planning the 8th Corvette Autumn and will update this site when possible. Please check back in from time to time to see our progress. We are determined to have a show in September with fun and friendship and, of course, Corvettes at the center of it all. Meanwhile here are some bare bone of our show.
We have secured the facility at Darlings Chevrolet to hold the show on Sept 18, 2021 and the Elks Club to host our always fun pre-show party START YOUR ENGINES on Friday evening Sept 17, 2021. Details of this event are still in flux but we are working to firm it up in the coming weeks.
The 2021 Corvette Autumn will be a totally new format, a Party all morning in Darlings lot. .
We will not judge the cars, rather, we invite all Corvette owners and fans to join us Saturday morning Sept 18 at 9:00 to celebrate the ability to get together with friends, family and Corvette fans and reconnect after a long absence. The objective is to have fun, celebrate the end of a long quarantine and our great cars. The show will begin, as always with donuts and coffee and registration. However this year those who preregister by snail mail by Sept 6 will be charged no fee. Those registering at the show will be charged a $5.00 fee. We will not judge cars or present trophies except for a Peoples Choice Award and a Sponsors Choice Award. We will have games to play for fun (Corn Hole, Texas Washers and one or two new ones. We hope to have 60’s and 70’s music on the PA system all morning. The Elks club plans to have their mobile kitchen on the premises to provide lunch and ARCC is working to provide discount tickets for all attendees.
ARCC is committed to have a safe show and will obey and enforce all relevant state and federal CDC requirements at all events and sites.
Please read the following statement from the club officers and check back before making any plans or changes to plans regarding attendance to the show. We cancelled the 2020 show because of these directives. They have been highly modified for the summer/fall of 2021 and we are hopeful that we can host our show.
Therefore these directives are still on the webpage, for reference, but are no longer operative. They will be changed as soon as we get a directive relevant to September 2021.
The governor’s latest directives regarding events in Maine during the Covid crisis and the affects on us are: no gatherings of more than 10 people through May, no gatherings of more than 50 people throughout June and July and possibly into August, and anyone coming in from out of state is required to self-quarantine for two weeks. The situation in September and beyond is not known and may not be announced until mid summer. Therefore it is not feasible to plan a gathering of more than 50 people, secure donated prizes to present at the show, purchase trophies, and, sadly, present our “Start Your Engines” party on Friday before the show.
Considering all of these points and the difficulty they present in planning an event in September, but most importantly the continued health risk to ourselves and visitors, ARCC leaders have recommended that we dramatically restructure our 8th 2020 Corvette Autumn Show. We don’t say this lightly and we waited as long as we thought wise, but the situation is just untenable and there’s no point in prolonging the decision anymore.
ALL EVENTS SURROUNDING OUR ANNUAL CORVETTE SHOW FOR 2020 ARE CANCELLED.
WE WILL BE ORGANIZING THE 2021 SHOW ACTIVITIES IN EARLY 2021. PLEASE CHECK BACK TO THIS WEBSITE IN THE EARLY SPRING OF 2021.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST AND IN THE MEANWHILE:
PLEASE BE SAFE, WEAR A FACE COVERING WHENEVER YOU ARE OUT IN PUBLIC, WASH YOUR HANDS and DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE !
The following, original announcement is no longer accurate. It is simply here for your edification.
2015 and 2016, 2017, 2018 and now 2019 were capped off by ARCC/Darling’s Annual Corvette Autumn Shows held at Darlings Chevrolet in Ellsworth, Maine. The shows hosted by ARCC (Acadia Region Corvette Club) and sponsored by Darlings Chevrolet to celebrate the spectacular fall foliage of the Acadia Region of Maine and America’s Sports Car were terrific successes. Approximately 50 beautiful Vettes from C2 thru C7 from New England and Canada attended each year. Perhaps there will be some C8s this year. Anybody bought one yet?
The weekend will begin with a “Start Your Engines Party” ( at the Ellsworth Elks Club on High Street, 4:30 until???) The party will be open to all pre registered entrants and entrants registering at that venue. The party will be hosted by ARCC offering a free buffet and a cash bar. The highlight of the weekend will be an all Corvette judged show Cars arriving after 10:00 will not be judged, but may enter as “for show only” participants. Food vendors will be onsite to offer a variety of choices for lunch. The show will end in a trophy presentation in early afternoon. As in the past, some games of skill will be offered with the proceeds supporting Sarah’s House (a very low cost temporary residence for persons undergoing cancer treatment in Bangor.(www.sarahshouseofmaine.org)) Details and timing are in development, so check back often to sign up and plan your visit to our home area. Reservations can be made at the motels below or any others in the Ellsworth vicinity.
